Here is how you can change the hostname on OpenSuSE 13 Linux in a few easy steps:
- Log on a root
- Edit file /etc/HOSTNAME
- Replace the existing hostname with the new hostname
- Save and close the file
- Edit file /etc/hosts
- Replace all existing hostname with the new hostname
- Save and close the file
- Issue the following command as root user: “hostname
“
